I have been a client of Lindsay and Healey’s since December 2008 when by chance I discovered Lindsay’s workshop when my 1997 MGF was in need of a service and WOF check. I only wish I had found Lindsay much earlier in my car’s history as I had finally found someone who I felt wanted to do the absolute best for me and my car.

 

Lindsay had on display the various levels of service, with what was included and the prices beside – so transparent and so female-friendly. And then when I went to pick up my car, Lindsay insisted on giving me a discount as my car hadn’t taken as long/needed as much as the service fee included! My car seemed to be grinning with the TLC it had received and the engine was running better than at any time in the 11 years I could remember. It made my Xmas motoring so easy.

 

I continued to take my car to Lindsay for its six-monthly service and WOF, but I was also able to get immediate attention from Lindsay when my aging car developed symptoms in-between services: window issues and engine rattles. In fact Lindsay did such a great job, after my last service etc. I decided it was a good time to sell.

 

I prevailed upon Lindsay and Healey to look at a trade me car purchase I was considering after being disappointed with the quality of the AA report. The team did a thorough check, and picked up many things the AA hadn’t, and then found contradictory evidence of its state e.g. the back tyres were worn and needed immediate replacing, whereas the AA check had said they were OK! Lindsay had me come up to the workshop to see for myself what they had found.

 

I decided to pass the opportunity by and instead traded my car in for a newer car (Audi TT Roadster) and yet again Lindsay came to the rescue. This time recommending that I insist on a cambelt change due to its age – even if it had low kms – and then when that was done, reminded me to make sure it was recorded in my service book.

 

I know that the team at EMS will look after my new(er) car now, too.

 

Oh, and I must mention that the East St workshop (off K Road) is so convenient to Queen St, and Healey always drops me at work and collects me when my car is ready. Plus they are open Saturday mornings!

 

In one sentence: I can’t recommend Lindsay and Healey and European Motor Services highly enough – I tell all my friends who need a mechanic, about them – and even a few that don’t.
